JOB SUMMARY

Provide onboarding, supervision, ongoing training, and performance management to Social Service Coordinators in the region. Empower social service coordinators to facilitate services that will positively enhance the quality of life for affordable housing residents and neighboring community members, an environment which promotes cultural appreciation and a commitment to diversity, resident involvement to enhance a safe and positive living environment including the coordination of activities and services that will prevent and reduce vandalism, crime and illegal activity within the complex and surrounding community. To implement programs and services aimed at promoting Better Tomorrow's five-core focus areas: Health, Wellness and Nutrition; Academic Support, Financial Literacy, Job Readiness, and Social and Community Engagement.

The Regional Lead Social Service Coordinator is expected to provide programs and services at their home property.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

Social Service Coordinator Responsibilities at Home Site:

Facilitate or coordinate the following programs, activities, and social services for residents including children, families, seniors/older adults, and/or people with disabilities, utilizing community resources and agencies:

Health and wellness programs and other educational programs to promote physical and mental health, and generate a sense of well-being.

Job Readiness/Occupational Wellness and financial literacy to promote economic stability and self-sufficiency including, but not limited to, technical/computer skills programs.

Educational programs for residents utilizing community resources and agencies - including planning and teaching curriculum. (Out-of-School Time Programs for Family Sites include afterschool and summer programs).

Social Engagement events including but not limited to National Night Out, holiday events, and any other program focused on developing safe and strong communities.

● Lead any on-site food distribution programs including food banks, hot meals, or any other food donations to ensure all residents have accessible food resources.

● Provide case management and appropriate service referral services to residents, enabling them to age in place and assisting those with disabilities or special needs.

● Create service goals and plans with residents and support residents in achieving those goals while monitoring progress, including conducting wellness checks.

● Develop and utilize resource files in order to refer residents with specific service needs. Must also provide follow-up when referrals are made to track progress.

● Daily use of data systems to track case management progress, demographic information, and monthly program attendance.

● Publish and distribute monthly community newsletters and calendars to all residents door to door.

● Collaborates with the Resident Association to align, support, and enhance on-site programs and services that meet resident needs

● Limited Fund development to supplement programs through grants, donations, and partnerships.

● Provide great customer service to our partner property management companies by assisting with helping residents comply with lease requirements and conducting healthy homes referral procedures.

● Manage, track, and use the annual site program budget by following BT financial procedures.

● Engage volunteers and community partners.

● Attend mandatory training/conferences as required by site compliance. This may require overnight stays, but notice will be provided.

Regional Lead Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates mission-driven leadership by fostering a positive, service-oriented regional culture while mentoring Social Service Coordinators and promoting accountability. Collaborates with teams to strengthen service delivery, address operational challenges, and support effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Train and support coordinators in creating service goals and plans with residents and support residents to achieve those goals while monitoring progress.
  • Monitor staff attendance and approve bi-weekly time sheets in the Time system.
  • Conduct monthly site visits and bi-weekly 1:1 meetings. Site visit and 1:1 frequency may be increased and to be determined based on need.
  • Ensure quality and relevant programming is occurring that meets BT’s 5 core programs and any site specific compliances.
  • Support staff to develop and utilize resource files for making referrals for residents in need of specific services. To provide follow-up when referrals are made.
  • Ensure that staff utilizes Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) data system to track case management progress, demographic information, and program outcomes.
  • Ensure that the monthly data report, the Newsletter, Calendar, and sign-in sheets match.
  • Ensure that staff files contain Better Tomorrows’ Confidentiality Agreements, sign-in sheets, after-school and summer enrollment forms, and any other paperwork as needed by compliance entities.
  • Review coordinators’ monthly community newsletter, calendar, and other deliverables for any errors.
  • Support coordinators in providing technical assistance to resident associations.
  • Support coordinators in Limited Fund development to supplement programs through grants, donations, and partnerships.
  • Ensure that staff are providing great customer service to partner property management companies, including being the liaison between the regional property manager and coordinators.
  • Provides support in addressing site incidents and conflicts, while promoting and teaching effective conflict resolution skills to help prevent and manage site-related issues.
  • Provide tools and resources to support staff in engaging volunteers and community partners.
  • Work closely with BT manager to proactively address any staff or programming concerns within the assigned region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Better Tomorrows’ manager.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and data entry & analysis
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced level project planning skills and knowledge
  • Analytical and mathematical skills, particularly in budget management, data tracking, and reporting
  • Knowledge of ETO or similar database experience preferred

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the assigned region and affordable housing landscapes.
  • Proven ability to navigate and leverage local resource networks, including food security, social services, and business partnerships.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in social services or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, push, and pull up to 25 pounds at times, primarily during food distribution events.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%, with travel primarily within the assigned region.
  • May be required to attend annual professional development trainings and industry conferences on an as-needed basis.
