2020 Summer of Advocacy
2020 Summer of Advocacy

AASC's annual Summer of Advocacy is underway! Join service coordinators across the nation by taking part and advocating for your profession and programs that your residents rely on.

Each month we'll focus our efforts on a pressing issue that requires your support. You'll receive an email reminder on the first day of each advocacy week. Get a head start on your planning and take a look at all of this year's Summer of Advocacy resources below!

July 20-24: CALL about emergency pandemic relief
Urge your Senators to approve emergency COVID-19 support for service coordinators, affordable housing, and relief programs.

Aug. 17-21: WRITE about federal service coordinator funding
Tell your Members of Congress they must pass full-year appropriations bills that make meaningful investments in service coordination and affordable housing before the Sept. 30 deadline. Any delay could result in reduced resources for vital programs and supports, including service coordination.

Sept. 21-25: INFORM about voter registration
National Voter Registration Day is Sept. 22. Use this week to ensure your residents are registered to vote at the correct address and are ready to participate in Election Day. This is a good time to inform residents of their voting options, including mail-in voting, and what they can expect to see on their ballots.
