Genuineness, concern for others, and empathy are characteristics used to describe the professional human services worker. To this end, the helping professional tirelessly works on behalf of and in collaboration with the client to move them from stagnant life situations into positive life situations.   The purpose of this training is to explore the six antecedents of job burnout: workload, control, values, fairness, reward, and community and help seasoned and new professionals learn how to quickly identify the signs and symptoms of this phenomenon.

About the Presenter

Dr. Felicia Wilson received her doctoral degree in human services from Capella University, master of social work degree from Florida State University, and bachelor of social work degree from Alabama State University. She is a licensed master social worker in the state of Georgia and Certified Anger Management Specialist (CAMS-II). She also holds a certificate in Contemporary Theory in Addictive Behavior, and is a Certified Professional Life Coach.  Prior to her arrival at Saint Leo University, she worked in nursing homes as an assistant administrator/director of social services, as a therapist with abused children who were victims of sexual exploitation, and as a director of customer services with a healthcare technology company. Dr. Wilson has written articles and has a strong presentation repertoire.
