Monday, May 1, 2017
President Trump has chosen Pam Patenaude, who is currently the president of the J. Ronald Terwilliger Foundation for Housing America's Families, for HUD deputy secretary.
HUD deputy secretary handles most day-to-day operations of the department. Trump initially considered Patenuade for the position of Secretary of HUD, but the role ultimately went to Dr. Ben Carson.
Patenaude previously served as HUD assistant secretary for community, planning and development under President George W. Bush and as an adviser to President Ronald Reagan.
Patenaude must be confirmed by the Senate before taking on her HUD role.
